Sažetak
Moisture determination is an important aspect of many industrial and scientific researchers. Water is the principal constituent of all raw foods, and is also an important structurizing constituent of processed foods. Therefore, it is essential for the food industry as well as for researchers to have rapid, relatively accurate, and simple methods for moisture determination. Over the years, a wide range of methods has been developed to measure different physical quantities and express them in the form of moisture content. The Halogen Moisture Analyzer can be used to determine the moisture content of virually any substance. The instrument operates on the thermogravimetric principle. A halogen radiator dries the test substance under investigation while the precision balance integrated in the instrument continuosly measures the sample weight. The Halogen Moisture Analyzer HR73 has been used to determine the moisture content of low moisture content foods such as granulated instant drinks. The main benefit of using a halogen radiator involves a shorter measurement time compared with traditional drying methods.
