Degradation Process and Slope Stability of Soft Rocks
Weathering of soft rock causes significant degradation of soft rock properties and its disintegration into smaller fragments. This process leads to two major problems on natural or excavated slopes in rock masses that form soft rocks, namely the constant erosion of the slope surface and the frequent and sudden sliding of slopes. The problem is illustrated by the example of marl from flysch deposits. Designing solutions to stabilize such slopes are suggested.
