Internal Communication with a Global Perspective

Internal communication is a multidisciplinary area. Positioned between public relations, human resource management and marketing – it is simultaneously a part of various organizational functions and not really a part of any. In academic studies, it is mostly researched within organizational and managerial theories (Thompkins, 1987), organizational communication (Goldhaber, 1993 ; Jablin & Putam, 2001 ; Jablin, Putnam, Roberts & Porter, 1987), organizational psychology (Drenth, Thierry & de Wolf 1988 ; Lowenberg & Conrad 1998 ; Schein 1988) and in recent years – public relations (Men & Bowen, 2016 ; Ruck & Welch, 2012 ; Tkalac Verčič, Verčič & Sriramesh, 2012 ; Welch, 2012).
