Thought Experiements on Personal Identity

I respond to the objections raised against thought experiments in the metaphysical discussion on personal identity. It has been contested that thought experiments are deceiving and inadequate in dealing with the metaphysical problems and that unrealistic scenarios cannot adequately test our intuitions and philosophical positions. I argue that some scenarios are misleading, like the body swap experiment but that in general thought experiments are important.
