Structural diversity and magnetic properties of copper(II) 2D coordination polymers with amino-acids and 4, 4’-bipyridine
In our search for sustainable synthetic routes leading to novel and bioinspired coordination polymers, a series of two-dimensional (2D) CPs of copper(II) with amino-acids and 4, 4’-bipyridine were prepared. Selected amino acids have hydrophobic side-chains, but differing in the size and shape. The obtained 2D-networks were prepared by mild solution synthesis from copper(II) nitrate, amino-acid and 4, 4’-bipyridine in equimolar amounts from ternary solvent mixtures.
