Sažetak
Bastion of Love - Mothers for Peace” was a Croatian women's non-governmental organization spontaneously formed at the beginning of 1991, when the first signs of the upcoming Greater Serbian aggression followed by extensive Serbian media propaganda against Croatia appeared. At the time, the activities of the organization were focused on the prevention of the war. During the summer of 1991, with the outbreak of the war, women, concerned for their sons - conscripts in the Yugoslav People's Army and organized protests against the war and demanded that the Army release conscripts and let them return home. Since military authorities in Belgrade showed no political or any other will to comply with these requests, mothers went to Bruxelles, to the Head office of the European Community and visited the European Parliament. They also traveled to the other European cities - Berlin, Paris, Bonn, etc. to inform the international institutions and the international public on the situation in Croatia and the position of their sons. Soon, some 2000 soldiers were released from YPA military barracks.
