Project: Investigating the occupational burden of the workers due to a possible higher levels of natural radioactivity originating from NORM while performing the construction works at the Site of new coal storage of the Plomin Thermal Power Plant

The background for project tasks for which IMROH took professional responsibility is possible presence of NORM in material surrounding the TPP Plomin due to its fuel – coal. The prelimminary work was done by geathering all possible data (small meta analysys) of the, till today, performed monitoring of the TPP iste and it´s wastes, underground waters and biota regarding NORM and possible occupational impact to workers performing construction. All other environmental stressors present at the new construction site and originating from regular TPP operation (including regulated wastes) are NOT in the scope of the dosimetric measurements or/and laboraory gammaspectrometric analysys of, by the client, delivered soil and water samples. This was the basis for the field work. The decision was to perform dosimetry of ambient equivalent dose rate of ionizing raditaion (originating from NORM) and to establish the local background radiation of the whole site (LBG). Samples for laboratory gammaspectromeric analysy were contracted to be delivered by client after they were samped at the site obeying the specific basic depth depending sampling protocol given by IMROH.

The implemented project report must in no way and under no conditions be presented individually, interpreted, partially copies or published without prior consent from the owner (Client) and approval from the Contractor (IMROH) ; IMROH_EKONERG Contract 2015.
