Music Education in Schools: What kind of Teachers do We Need for a Next Generation of Pupils?
The work deals with the education of future music education teachers in modern schools. Arts education is an important part of the school curriculum. The creators of education policies on the importance of arts education are also aware of that, especially of music education. Through two declarations they tried to contribute to the development of the aforementioned aspect of education. By looking for solutions on how to educate future teachers who will be ready to educate future pupil generations, possibilities of Situated Learning Theory in higher education have been presented, which would educate teachers through community of practice in order to attain competencies for working in schools.
