Sex-specific changes in the rat brain as a consequence of high-fat high-sugar diet and antidiabetic treatment
There is sex-specific response in CNS based on the high-fat high-sugar diet in hypothalamus that regulates energy balance, same as in hippocampus that is related to memory what indicates sex hormonal related response. Insulin and leptin receptors in the brain are key in recognition of "adiposity signals", leading to CNS inflammation which eventually leads to insulin and leptin resistance and finally obesity.
