Education for Environmental Citizenship in Croatia

SWOT analysis is an established and useful method to find the best path in solving a problem or making a decision. The aim of this chapter is to analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Education for Environmental Citizenship in Croatia based on the answers of six experts in the fields of environment and education. Education for Environmental Citizenship is a multidisciplinary proactive approach that aims to raise awareness about the environment. However, a number of weaknesses and threats have been identified that could jeopardise the whole concept. All respondents have a predominantly positive attitude on the opportunities of Education for Environmental Citizenship, along with different opinions on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Education for Environmental Citizenship between formal and non-formal education.
