Funding instruments as a support to the sustainable transport development in the Danube-Black Sea region

Although there are initiatives for the development of the sustainable intermodal transport in the Danube and Black Sea (DBS) regions, the implementation of development projects often lags behind. As one of the reasons for the delayed implementation is recognized lack of knowledge about the existing financial instruments that can support the sustainable transport development projects. Therefore, within the project DBS Gateway Region an Funding Guideline was developed that includes an overview of the most relevant funding instruments for the countries in the DBS region, followed with the overview of the financially supported development projects that are acknowledged as the best practice projects by the regional stakeholders.
