Myocardial changes caused by endogenous and exogenous influences
Myocardial changes are caused by numerous influences with a concomitant in clinical and pathological pesentation. That is why a precise etiological diagnosis is difficult to make and needs a strong support by various diagnostic methods (e. g. specific antibodies). The most common exogenous cause is an infection, predominantly viral but also bacterial, fungal or parasitic. The severity of clinical course, exept for the causitive agent, depends on the immunological status of the host. The majority of cases ends with permanent myocardial damage whose severity depends on the type of process.
