Electron microscope in biological research
Many discoveries in the history of science can be thanked to the development of microscopy. After two and a half centuries of discovering the micro-world by a light microscope, the 1930's the electron microscope was invented thanks to the knowledge that accelerated electrons in the vacuum behave very similarly to the light. With an increase of more than 1, 000, 000 times today, an electron microscope has opened our eyes to the world of very small, so that top-of-the-line microscopes can directly visualize individual atoms in the crystal grid. Electron microscopes have become an inescapable tool of science and technology of the 21st century. They are used for studying everything from living beings to electronic circuits. As a part of this workshop we will talk about the use of an electron microscope in biological research.
