Computer games are one of the most widespread application of modern information technologies. Due to their prevalent presence in the everyday life of an average person, computer games represent a rich source of a wide arrange of data, valuable scientific testbed, testing ground for various social experiments, etc. The talk covers the introduction to the concept of computer games and some of the more interesting genres in the context of artificial intelligence, followed by examples of how artificial intelligence can be and is applied in computer games. An example of applied selected set of methods of artificial intelligence in an environment of a specific computer game is given afterwards. A couple of interesting stories related to computer games and the behaviour of players within are spread through the talk as well, with the goal of delivering a clear message of the amazing possibilities available within a selected set of computer games.
