Big Data Storage in High Energy Physics
In today’s Big Data era, data and information are main capital. The Big Data technology is a globally interesting and growing topic. HEP (High Energy Physics) is data- intensive field of research. The developed e-infrastructure for collecting and processing large amounts of data is crucial for the success of research in the field of HEP. The vast amount of data necessary for scientific research in field of HEP poses great challenges that will only grow exponentially and requires proper amount of computing infrastructure and collaboration. High efficiency and economical solutions are important for data management and storage enhancement. The scalable and efficient management of resources may be one of the most important objectives for the realization of the future infrastructure that will meet the required design principles for explosive growth of data. CERN is the world’s largest particle physics research laboratory. ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is one of the four major CERN’s LHC (Large Hadron Collider) experiments. The research will tend to improve data management and storage at this demanding data-driven research field.
