Pre-Service Teachers' Concerns About Multigrade Teaching
The paper aimed at exploring concerns that university students who are prospective teachers report to have regarding their future employment in multigrade classes. For that purpose a survey among the students in the final years of their studies was conducted. Their responses were analysed and ranked to show the most/the least frequent concerns. The results suggest that students find organisation of instruction to be their most frequent concern. They also worry about the working conditions in remote areas. On the other hand, the least frequently expressed concerns belong to the category of teaching efficacy, meaning that pre-service teachers are not worried that the multigrade experience provides low-quality education which translates into lower level of student achievement.
