Influence of mould temperature on tensile and flexural properties of injection moulded polyethylene specimens
Injection moulding is one of the most important and efficient technologies for processing of thermoplastic polymers. Possibility of manufacturing of final parts with complex and detailed geometry in a single production step makes it suitable for automation and mass-production. Final properties of injection moulded parts depend both on the working material as well as on the processing parameters. Mould temperature is one of the most important parameters for optimisation of injection moulding process. Mould temperature dictates cooling rate which influences not only the properties of the final part, but also the cycle time and cost effectiveness as well. In this paper, the influence of mould temperature on tensile and flexural properties of polyethylene MG 9621 B specimens is investigated.
