NANOSTRUCTURED HARDMETALS CHARACTERISATION BASED ON ACOUSTIC PARAMETERS
Using ultrasound method for material characterization allows to determine the change of acoustic parameters considering the propagation of ultrasound impulses and interaction on different mictostructures. The ultrasound pulse propagation velocity is one of the most important features for material characterization. The ultrasound velocity is inherent to any material determined by the type and condition of the material. Starting from the fact that ultrasound wave velocit y is different in samples of the same group but with different chemical composition, in this paper is shown the change of ultrasonic velocity depending on the content of cobalt on samples of nanostructured hardmetals. The ultrasound pulse transmission velocity was measured using a digital oscilloscope on the prepared samples with the pulse overlap method. With intent of characterization of prepared samples of nanostructured hardmetals, frequency analysis was made, and certain characteristic parameters were chosen in frequency domain.
