The Analysis of Research Trends in Pedagogy and Possible Perception of Future Trends
The paper aims to highlight the present trends in pedagogy, using a six-year analysis of two of the oldest Croatian journals which publish scientific and professional papers in the area of education. With regard to the published works over the period from 2012 to 2017, it is clear that the trends have changed in line with the changes that affected (directly and/or indirectly) our educational system in that period of time, at all levels of education. In addition to the highlighted trends, there is a continuous presence of the following issues: assessment, teacher competence, and teaching climate. The least represented topic relates to the reflections on the future of education (in all segments). Based on the previously identified trends, but also regarding the possible social impacts, the potential trends in the research of pedagogical issues are anticipated in the foreseeable future.
