Changing family structures and impact on pensions

Firstly, author gives overview and categorizes the main changes in the family structures that are relevant for pension systems. Then she reflects how these changes impact organization of pension system and the survivorship benefits. She raises and analyses three questions and considers solutions for the problems linked to the intergenerational and intragenerational redistribution i. e. 1) How changing family structures affect contribution side (revenue side) and benefits side (spending side), 2) Is there still a need for having survivorship benefits, and if yes who should be the new entitled persons and what should be entitlement conditions?, and 3) The “fairness” issue in the case of “lost” savings when there are no entitled persons?
