Design and Parameter Adaptation of a Fuzzy Controller

The paper describes a phase plane-based method of presetting a fuzzy control surface. To compensate for parameter variations, an adaptation mechanism has been added. An adaptation law is based on finding an adaptive gain coefficient which multiplies the output of the fuzzy servo controller and which is determined by the value of a quantitative transient response indicator. The proposed adaptive fuzzy control scheme has been tested in the angular speed control loop of a dcm servo drive and the simulation results proved its efectiveness even in case of large changes of system parameters.
