Karst springs
Spring is a points of natural, concentrated discharge of groundwater at a rate high enough to maintain flow on the surface. Generally springs are formed where water table intersects with the earth’s surface, or groundwater rises to the surface through rock faults, fractures or depressions. Karst spring represents special kind of different water outflows from the underground to the surface which occurs in karst terrains. It is a natural exit for the groundwater to the surface of lithosphere through the hydrological active fissures of the karst mass. They appear most frequently in the places of contact between the carbonate masses and the impermeable layers (e.g. flysch).
