Sažetak
CO2 geological storage potential can be developed in a variety of geological settings/formations. One option would be to use depleted oil and gas reservoirs, another to inject in regional deep saline aquifers or in unmineable coal seams, or even to use CO2 in enhanced geothermal systems. In any case, this novel resource must be carefully evaluated to reduce its uncertainty because more reliable estimates are needed to enable investments. This methodologies are being worked on in a number of collaborative research projects and one of these is ENOS which is oriented to pilot injections onshore Europe and funded through H2020 program.
