Pedagogical competences - popularisation of education for the needs of tourism
ABSTRACT: The main hypothesis of the paper is that teachers at universities with their pedagogical competences should create excellent conditions for students. The aim of the paper is by using research methods (comparison, survey method, statistical method) to analyze pedagogical competences and satisfaction with the tourism programme structure from the student perspective. The purpose of the research is to determine the level of significance of the course of study for students of the two tourism faculties of the University of Pula (Tourism, Culture and Tourism) and to make conclusions that will further adapt to the demands of the tourism market. The paper’s scientific contribution is confirmation of insufficient representation of modern paradigms of education in tourism (from the aspect of courses, study outcomes and contributions to improvements in the educational process) at the only Istrian university and the most active Croatian tourist region. Conclusions suggest future action through adaptation suggestions.
