Camel Pygmy Grasshopper (Cyphotettix camelus)
The Camel Pygmy Grasshopper is distributed in the Southwest of Western Australia, where it inhabits open sandy patches. The species has rarely been documented, which might be caused by its good camouflage. It might be impacted by the increasing lengths of droughts that have been documented in this region, but there is a need for more research into the distribution, ecology, threats and population trend. Due to its wide distribution, it is currently unlikely to meet the thresholds of a threatened category and is therefore assessed as Least Concern.
