A Parallel Plate Capacitor – the Dielectrophoretic Effect at Liquid Level Measurement
The development of nanotechnology with application in biology and medicine is very dependent on the use of electric field attractive forces technology to control movement of particles or liquids. In this case, a simple liquid level measuring device such as a parallel plate capacitor can help to understand the physical phenomena that have a significant effect on defining a proper model for manageable control. Dielectrophoretic (DEP) effect represent a motion of electrical neutral matter caused by its interaction with non- uniform electric fields. This paper describes the FEM modelling and experimental verification of the parallel plate capacitor capacitance in relation to electrical neutral liquid level.
