Some remarks on the evolutionary debunking arguments
The common assumption of the evolutionary debunking arguments is that some evolutionary explanation can be given how many of our normative judgments came about and what the mechanisms for their retention are. Derek Parfit in the second volume of On What Matters defends normative realism by challenging the plausibility of this common assumption. In this paper, I discuss Parfit’s objections and explore whether they could be answered.
