Basics of single-phase flow in plate heat exchangers and their characteristics

The paper presents the results of the research and visualisation of flow between corrugated chevron plates of the plate heat exchanger. The influences of the chevron angle &#61538 ; ; , Re number and corrugation aspect ratio b/l on the flow pattern and performances are delineated. The experimental heat transfer data available from the open literature are compared against the results obtained from the H. Martin semi-empirical correlation.
