Project Yugoslavia: Dialectics of the Revolution
In general terms, the historicity of the project of Yugoslavia seems to be caught in a deadlock of an irresolvable contradiction between affirmation and negation: between a dialectical attempt to overcome modern political forms, and an attempt to affirm the new of a revolutionary political subjectivity, translated into a creation of a collective form of political life. As a result, this historicity is an unstable one: the essence of the project Yugoslavia – and perhaps also its emancipatory dimension – resides in the production of transient forms of political being-together, forms of unity in contradiction: a people which is a non-people, a nation which is a non-nation, a State which is a non-State.
