Transient Analysis of Electromagnetic Field Coupling to Buried Cables

The paper deals with the transients behaviour of a single wire buried in a dielectric half-space illuminated by the electromagnetic pulse(EMP).Transients response of the wire is obtained by using the both transmission line (TL) and the antenna theory approach.Telegraphers equations arising from the TL approach are numerically handled by the finite element technique. The Hallen integral equation arising from the antenna theory is treated by the Galerkin-Bubnov boundary element method.
