Abstract Introduction: Recreational running becomes an urban sport and is perceived as a method that can simultaneously improve multiple segments of life, from health, stress reduction and social aspects. Methods: This work was conducted as cross-sectional study on a sample of 180 recreational runners, 101 women and 79 men, by internally generated questionnair, based on Likert scale, yes/no questions and mutiple choice questions. Results: Participants generally showed consistent attitudes about running. Running is considered as a lifestyle and health is the first reason of running. Considering positive health habits, most of them run other forms of training, pay attention on fluid uptake as well as applying a stretching exercises, compared to those who do not. Running can be considered as a safe activity, where the injuries of the subjects are „harmless“ and they „rarely experience serious injuries“, in most cases.
