Sustainable development
Moving towards a sustainable society, economy and environment is an inevitable fact. Moreover, in 2015, the UN launched the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This course, therefore, provides students an understanding of sustainable development, the key challenges and pathways to economic development, socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable. Within this course, students will get a historical overview of how sustainability has been understood, as well as a thorough introduction to the SDGs 2030 – what they are, how progress can be measured, and how the SDGs are relevant for the management of the global systems supporting humanity. Several cases studies on SDGs from European perspectives and practices are also provided.
