Among women's rights the right to give birth or not occupies a special place, Lately this right has been the object of numerous discussion. By not taking a "pro" or "contra" attitude, this paper aims to provide a historical overwiev and examines possible similarities and differences of the legal regulations on the issue of abortion in Canada and Croatia. Colud "the North" be a legal model for "South" and is there a whole range of different "Norths"?
