Shape synthesis based on integral and multi-patch NURBS surfaces
This work deals with developing of optimization- based synthesis of 3D shape based on given excellence criteria and constraints. The proposed shape synthesis includes an initiation phase (3D shape genesis) with elimination of bias towards any geometric primitives, evolutionary shape optimization of populations of heterogeneous phenotypes converted into common genotypes based on fitted parametric surfaces, dynamic parameterization based on intelligent adaptation to any scalar field (geometric error, weight coefficients, parametric parameters, …), adaptive parameterizations for dynamically transforming 3D geometries and generating of mutual relationships and interfaces with respective continuities. The parameterization is based on single-patch NURBS (Non-uniform rational B-splines) surfaces as well as on multi-patch NURBS surfaces whose synthesis should represent the desired shape with all constraints. In the initial results, analytical functions and CAD models were taken as excellence criteria and geometric constraints.
