Predictive Validity of Questionnaires of Aggressiveness Used for the Study of Behaviour in Traffic
Many reports state that there is a correlation between aggressive behaviour and road safety. We wanted to evaluate predictive validity of one questionnaire of aggressiveness relative to the involvement in road accidents. The study involved 155 bus drivers with the minimum of three years of service. The correlations were computed for verbal manifestations of aggressiveness, physical manifestations of aggressiveness, verbal latent aggressiveness compared with the external criterium: number of road accidents. The results show a relative low predictive validity of the developed test of aggressiveness, relative to the external criteriu. This result is explained by the questionable validity of the external criterium: road accidents.
