The visibility and the impact of cultural and public activity of a school library in the Vukovarsko-Srijemska county
This paper presents the research results obtained using the quantitative method of online questionnaire. The goal of the research was to investigate the implementation and conducting visibility of the cultural and public activity through the ways of advertising the conducted activities of school libraries in the Vukovarsko- Srijemska County. The research was conducted on the sample of N=72 school libraries. A school library is the main promoter of a school’s cultural events. Within them, a school librarian takes on the role of a cultural animator and contributes through various activities to improving the quality of cultural life of a school and wider community. Therefore, one of the important roles of a school library is promoting the cultural awareness of its pupils and workers. The cultural activity of a library can be conducted in the direct interaction with the pupils and workers in a school itself and the wider community. In this manner, a school library can influence the process of lifelong learning and education of pupils, as well as the perception of opinion of wider community regarding it.
