Practical experience in EMDR education
Introduction: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapeutic intervention based on the reprocessing and desensitization of symptoms related to traumatic stress experiences during bilateral stimulation. Understanding the personal experience of practitioners in the process of EMDR training has a lasting beneficial effect for practitioners, clients and psychotherapy. Case Study: The article describes the experience of practitioners in the EMDR training process. It presents the experience of practitioners related to their involvement in the training process. The paper analyses the experiences of practitioners working with clients and a supervisor, as well as difficulties mainly related to supervision. This work offers a reflection on the training process through an introspective view of practitioners. Conclusion: Through the manuscript it is evident that the self-assessment of practitioners has a unique and specific importance in the internalization of EMDR psychotherapy assumptions.
