Diagnostic value of CT-guided biopsy in assessment of distant breast cancer metastases and impact on therapy
Aims and objectives to determine the value of CT guided biopsy in establishing the origin and pathological characteristics of new lesions in patients with known breast cancer to evaluate the role of CT-guided biopsy in the modification of the treatment strategy in breast cancer patients who develop distant lesions during follow-up to evaluate complications of CT- guided biopsy. Conclusion CT-guided biopsy is an effective and safe technique for the diagnosis of metastatic breast disease and immunohistochemical evaluation. Discordance between receptor status in primary and metastatic breast cancer and modification of the treatment strategy improves the prognosis of breast cancer patients.
