Values of damage control surgery in a major incidents.
Damage Control Surgery contributes to a major advance in a trauma patients management. Damage Control Surgery principles are applying in a treatment for a selective group of a patients. In a daily routine work DCS treatment is reserved for a heavy polytrauma patients. In a situation when a Major Incident is declared significant changes in a prehospital and hospital management of a patients is present. Authors discuss about values and principles of damage control surgery in a daily practice and point on difference in a hospital management and treatment of a patients in a situation when Major Incident is declared. Applying principles of Damage Control Resuscitation in a prehospital and hospital settings could reduce the need for a DCS treatment in a selective group of a patients.
